Stamps Ukulele Band

We are a bunch of people who enjoy playing ukulele – some of us also like to drink decent beer. Where better to combine both pursuits than at Stamps Bar, Crosby?

We meet upstairs every Tuesday night from about 8pm, in a very informal group, to strum and sing to our hearts’ content. All you need to join us is a sense of fun and preferably a ukulele, although you can ususally borrow one.

As demonstrated in this photo, talent and skill are entirely optional.

Any level of player is welcome – from ‘never held a ukulele’ to ‘been busking in town for years’. There are no subscriptions to be in our band but you do have to buy your own drinks.

This is a few of us NOT playing ukuleles but still managing to enjoy ourselves.

Every now and again we do performances outside Stamps, usually for a charity or an event. This summer we have graced the moorings of several pubs along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, performing as we went. We have been given a thunderous round of applause at every pub, as we sail away in Griff’s Ukunaught.
